Ward One Democrats is the official Democratic Party organization for Ward One in Washington, D.C., a dynamic and diverse community in the heart of our nation’s capital and home to more than 40,000 registered Democrats.

Ward One includes the neighborhoods of Adams Morgan, Columbia Heights, Howard University, LeDroit Park, Mount Pleasant, Park View, Pleasant Plains, Shaw, and U Street.

Ward One Democrats operate independently but in close alignment with the goals of the Democratic Party at the city and national levels.

“We are an urban people. It is because of the nature of urban environments that organizations of the people become manifestly important. It is our duty to provide a framework for an expression of the public will and to ensure that this public expression is also one that reflects the diversity of our community.

Our concern is with the people, not with the status quo, if the status quo be one of unresponsiveness, inefficiency and repression in any form, whether overt or covert.
